# Skills Ontario Competition

For the fourth consecutive time, FASET students have earned top honors at the [Skills Ontario Competition](https://www.skillsontario.com/ "https://www.skillsontario.com/"). During the annual Spring event, competitors were able to show off their knowledge and skills in a variety of contests across the trade and technology sectors. Seneca students achieved three gold, one silver and four bronze medals this year.

From the [School of Software Design & Data Science](https://students.senecacollege.ca/spaces/15/school-of-software-design-data-science/home), Gerardo Arriaga Rendon from [Computer Programming & Analysis advanced diploma](https://www.senecacollege.ca/programs/fulltime/CPA.html) program won bronze in Technology category for **Coding**.

From the [School of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering Technology](https://www.senecacollege.ca/school/electronics-and-mechanical-engineering-technology.html):

- Kian Hassan-Tehrani and Matin Zalpour from the [Electromechanical Engineering Technology \(Automation\) advanced diploma](https://www.senecacollege.ca/programs/fulltime/EMA/courses.html "https://www.senecacollege.ca/programs/fulltime/ema/courses.html") program won gold in the Industrial category for **Mechatronics**, Team of 2.
- Maxim Gontcharenko from the [Electronics Engineering Technology advanced diploma](https://www.senecacollege.ca/programs/fulltime/EET/courses.html "https://www.senecacollege.ca/programs/fulltime/eet/courses.html") program won gold in the Technology category for **Electronics**.
- Mark Macario and Tyler Schuette each from the [Mechanical Engineering Technician \(Tool Design\) diploma](https://www.senecacollege.ca/programs/fulltime/MATD.html "https://www.senecacollege.ca/programs/fulltime/matd.html") program won gold and silver, respectively, in the Industrial category for **Precision Machining**.
- Jonathan Stewart won bronze in the Industrial category for **Mechanical CAD.**
- Tarrick Karim won bronze in the Industrial category for **Computer Aided Manufacturing \(CAM\).**

All gold medal winners will represent Team Ontario in the [Skills Canada National Competition](https://www.skillscompetencescanada.com/en/skills-canada-national-competition/ "https://www.skillscompetencescanada.com/en/skills-canada-national-competition/"), which is being held in Vancouver, British Columbia, at the end of the month.
