# Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence \(AI\) aims to create systems or machines that are capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence, such as problem-solving, learning, reasoning, perception, language understanding, and decision-making.

Generative Artificial Intelligence is a subset of AI that focuses on creating systems capable of generating new content, data, or information that resembles human-generated content. These systems employ various algorithms and models to produce text, images, audio, and other forms of data.

### Artificial Intelligence and its Impact on Education

In February 2023, the Teaching & Learning Centre hosted a webinar about the current state of generative AI apps and discussed their potential impact on higher education.
