**The most commonly asked questions from Teaching & Learning will be answered here:**

1. Is there an AI Detection tool that I can use at Seneca?

- - No, there is no AI detection tool used at Seneca. There are no reliable detection tools yet. Those that are available – GPTZero, Turnitin, Originality.ai, etc – have been found to misidentify original student content as AI generated, with some findings demonstrating that “these detectors consistently misclassify non-native English writing sample as AI-generated, whereas native writing samples are accurately identified.”

2. Can I submit students' work into AI detection tools and other AI tools for grading?

- - Students have not consented to having their work submitted to these tools, which opens questions related to data privacy and security.
