# Seneca Libraries

Each campus has a full-service library, accessible online via **https://library.senecapolytechnic.ca/**. The website provides access to extensive Library resources, including full text magazine and newspaper articles, streaming video, ‘Ask Us’ Virtual Reference services, policies, tutorials, and more. You can also access the library page with dedicated information for faculty: **seneca.libanswers.com**. Click [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMiTEjxrGQA.) for an informational video created for faculty about Seneca Libraries.

### Library support for your classes

Instructions are available online to support your students with research assignments. Instruction covers topics such as: effective research, academic honesty, and citation. Some examples include:

- Synchronous information literacy instruction for your students customized to your course and assignments – contact your [liaison librarian](https://library.senecapolytechnic.ca/librarians) to discuss options;
- Assigning interactive [online tutorials](https://library.senecapolytechnic.ca/librarypackages) and quizzes;
- Importing [library cartridges](https://library.senecapolytechnic.ca/librarypackages) with quizzes directly into Learn@Seneca.

### Online Support for Students

Learning online may be a new experience for some students, with distinctive challenges and opportunities. Students may find as they take online courses that they struggle with staying motivated, navigating technology and studying smart. The Learning Online hub offers some strategies and tools that will help students be successful while learning online.

Click [here](https://students.senecapolytechnic.ca/spaces/146/learning-online/wiki/view/349/how-to-learn-online)to learn more on how to help students to learn online.

# Research and Citation Standard

You can refer to the library’s website for MLA resources for your specific school, as well as Research & Citation guides that outline the MLA Style of citing research. Other ‘styles’ may be used, based on your preference, and you can view them [here](https://library.senecapolytechnic.ca/citingsources) and then click on your area of study. This information is also available in *Seneca’s Guide to Research & Citation: MLA and APA Style,* which each first-year student is required to purchase through the Seneca Library.
