### Learn@Seneca \(Blackboard Ultra\)

Our [Learn@Seneca website](https://employees.senecapolytechnic.ca/spaces/266/blackboard-ultra/home) is where you can find all the resources you'll need to teach in Learn@Seneca. With how-to articles, best practices, resources, and videos, this space hosts all of the Teaching & Learning Centre's Learn@Seneca materials.

We recommend beginning with our [Learn@Seneca Crash Course](https://employees.senecapolytechnic.ca/spaces/266/blackboard-ultra/blogs/general/15698/blackboard-ultra-crash-course). It walks through the main features of Blackboard Ultra. We have the [Quick Tour](https://employees.senecapolytechnic.ca/spaces/266/blackboard-ultra/blogs/general/15698/blackboard-ultra-crash-course#mcetoc_1ghf1q33h1f), a short introduction video about Learn@Seneca, and the [Course Tour](https://employees.senecapolytechnic.ca/spaces/266/blackboard-ultra/blogs/general/15698/blackboard-ultra-crash-course#mcetoc_1ghf3pq9g0), showing what a course could look like in Learn@Seneca.

The Crash Course also include four instructional videos that cover the vast majority of topics you need to know to successfully teach in Learn@Seneca:

[The First Look at Learn@Seneca](https://employees.senecapolytechnic.ca/spaces/266/blackboard-ultra/blogs/general/15698/blackboard-ultra-crash-course#mcetoc_1ghf3pq9g0a) – explore the menu and content areas of Learn@Seneca, then start creating content: documents, folders, and modules

[Building Assessments](https://employees.senecapolytechnic.ca/spaces/266/blackboard-ultra/blogs/general/15698/blackboard-ultra-crash-course#mcetoc_1ghf3pq9g1) – explore the details of assessments in Learn@Seneca

[Using the Gradebook](https://employees.senecapolytechnic.ca/spaces/266/blackboard-ultra/blogs/general/15698/blackboard-ultra-crash-course#mcetoc_1ghf5007e1) – explore the Gradebook in Learn@Seneca and see how all the same features are still available plus some quality-of-life improvements

[Groups and Accommodations](https://employees.senecapolytechnic.ca/spaces/266/blackboard-ultra/blogs/general/15698/blackboard-ultra-crash-course#mcetoc_1ghf5007e1c) – explore how to create groups and add them to assignments, plus how to set up accommodations and exceptions

These are polished versions of our webinars that were recorded without audience questions.

Nutshells are a series of quick, self-paced, online learning modules for faculty. Our Learn@Seneca series of Nutshells provide you with an overview of Learn@Seneca in addition to tips, best practices, and resources.

### H5P

H5P is a tool that gives you the ability to create interactive learning content to embed in Learn@Seneca, or on a web page. You can use H5P to enhance many types of learning experiences: a form wizard that helps students plan out every step of their project; an interactive video to encourage engagement during viewing; self-directed quizzes; image hotspots to explore a graphic more thoroughly; interactive presentations that include self-assessment and opportunities to reflect; and more.

Please note: H5P does not connect to Gradebook, therefore cannot be used for graded online assessments. H5P is more for self-directed, formative assessments, reflection, and activities.

### Screencasting

Screencasting is the process of recording your computer screen usually while using voice narration. This can be a useful tool for quickly demonstrating a process to your students, such as how to use an online program, how to find something in your Learn@Seneca course, or how to troubleshoot an online issue.

This webinar demonstrated tools for Mac or Windows computers.

It includes examples and demonstrations of how to use Loom, Screencast-o-matic\*, and Quicktime.
