Is 2020 or 2021 the year you take your Professional Development (PD) Leave? If you are an employee with six or more years of full-time employment at Seneca, you are eligible to take a PD Leave. You can begin (or complete) your degree, work on curriculum development, or start a research project. The PD Leave committee is looking for activities that support your role at the college.
To apply for a PD Leave, you need to complete a and PD Leave application and submit them to LED. The IDP should be signed by your manager or Chair and the PD Leave application needs to be signed by both your manager or Chair and your Director or Dean. Submissions for 2020 begin on February 3 and must be submitted to Leadership and Employee Development no later than March 20, 2020.
Faculty are encouraged to send their PD Leave application to faculty.pd@senecacollege.ca (a subset of the Teaching & Learning Centre Team) for review and feedback (e.g., connections to pedagogy, student engagement, technology, learning outcomes, and research) before submitting their final application to the PD Leave committee.
LED will be hosting PD Leave Information webinars on January 15 and February 12; watch MyPD for more details.
