Seneca Innovation was launched in April 2020 to foster a culture of research and innovation at Seneca. Replacing the former Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ARIE), Seneca Innovation includes two departments: Seneca HELIX, led by Chris Dudley, and Seneca Applied Research, led by Chad Leaver. Additionally, Seneca Innovation operates Seneca’s employee innovation program, Seneca Innovates, and has overall accountability for the Research Ethics Board (REB).
In November, Seneca Innovation launched a new website. The Seneca Innovation website offers an intuitive look and feel similar to the rest of the Seneca site. The new site includes news highlights, upcoming events, and useful content relevant to students, faculty, staff, community partners, and industry. Within the Seneca Innovation website, you will find microsites for Seneca Applied Research and Seneca HELIX, with new features like the Research Project Showcase, which is a searchable database of recent applied research projects in every discipline. The two microsites connect in to programming offered by each department, such as Career Recharge and the newly launched website for the Seneca Centre for Innovation in Life Sciences (SCILS).
The Research Ethics Board website has also been revamped to make information, forms, and templates more easily accessible.
Seneca Innovation is currently developing content for Seneca’s new Intranet site, to be launched in the winter, which will make it easier for our stakeholders to connect and find relevant information.
I would encourage you to browse our website if you would like to know more about Seneca Innovation (including Seneca HELIX and Seneca Applied Research). Our recently published annual report is available on the About Us page.
