Seneca has an Enterprise license agreement for the use of the Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) suite of products. The creative cloud suite comprises of popular software tools like Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Spark, After Effects, Illustrator, Audition, Character Animator, Clip, Stock, Illustrator Draw, XD, Lightroom, and more. Our Enterprise license allows the use of Adobe CC in all Seneca-owned computers in our labs, classrooms, computing commons, and in all Seneca-owned laptops. However, it prevents us from extending the license to student- and faculty-owned laptops and mobile devices. This inability discourages the use of personal devices in the classrooms and the usage outside of Seneca campuses. In the past year, Adobe stopped the subsidized pricing offered to students and faculty, making it impossible for them to get access to Adobe CC.

Earlier this month, Seneca signed an agreement with Adobe to extend the use of Adobe CC at home and on full-time student laptops. This extension aligns with the goals of our new Digital Learning Strategy (DLS), including ensuring faculty and full-time students have full access to the software tools and technologies required to support their teaching and learning, on their own device, wherever and whenever they choose. Microsoft and Adobe provide most of the software tools required by our faculty and students for their teaching and learning. Our full-time students and faculty already have full access to Microsoft software tools on their own devices. With the extension of Adobe CC, we would have made significant progress in fulfilling this promise to our faculty and students.

Adobe Creative Cloud Teaching and Learning Opportunity
Would you like to learn more about how to use Adobe Creative Cloud?

We are interested in learning more about the impact of the use of Adobe CC applications in the classroom and we need your help!

This initiative will bring faculty together to collaborate and explore new technologies and investigate how it enhances teaching and learning. We will support the learning of the new applications, help you use them effectively in your classroom, and our team will gather the evidence from faculty and students to measure impact of these applications.

Adobe Creative Cloud: choose from Adobe Spark (pages, video, or poster), Adobe Portfolio, or Adobe Photoshop.
