On February 27, 2017, the 10th annual Teaching & Learning with Technology Day saw a record number of attendees explore new tools and best practices in educational technology. Markham Campus provided the setting. There were opening remarks from VPA Laurel Schollen, an update from AVP Information Services Radha Krishnan, and the now-infamous ‘elevator pitches’ from session presenters.

A collage of images from Teaching & Learning with Technology Day: there are some candid pictures of the audience, as well as some pictures form the pitches and sessions.

Then it was off to the jam-packed sessions. Presenters covered a wide range of topics and tools: Teaching & Learning’s My.Seneca course templates designed to enhance and improve the effectiveness of courses for students, an exploration of the unprecedented learning opportunities afforded by cutting-edge approaches to learning in Augmented Reality, clever tricks on how to create passwords which are both secure and easy to remember, building interaction through your course design, using OneDrive for student engagement, getting a tool like Feedly to collect and organize news and other content for you, online accessibility, and many more.

Many presenters have made their materials available for download on the Past Presentations page of the Teaching & Learning With Technology Day website. Bonus: presentations from previous years are also available!

As with any event of this size, planning for next year’s conference will begin soon. Bookmark the Teaching & Learning with Technology Day website to keep up to date on the latest developments.
