by Laurel Schollen, Vice-President, Academic

in the Winter 2017 issue

In my introduction, I spoke about the connections between working groups, committees and councils, and Academic College Council. One such group will be the Educational Technology Advisory Committee (ETAC). As a standing committee of Academic College Council, ETAC will provide regular reports to and receive feedback from the Council on matters pertaining to the use of technology to enhance student learning, Seneca’s digital strategy and mobile learning plan. The ETAC also serves as an expert reference group to ITS and academic leaders, providing insight, input and feedback on initiatives, pilot projects, policy and processes about the use of educational technology tools at Seneca.

Members will be selected based on their innovative ideas, a solid use and understanding of educational technology, creativity and the ability to apply their thinking on an institutional level. Chaired by a faculty member, ETAC will be comprised of 6 faculty members, 2 students, 2 Chairs and expert resources (1 each) from cFLEX, Counselling & Accessibility Services, and ITS. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please send a letter of interest, stating how your experience aligns with the profile above, to Ashley.Ribbel@senecacollege.ca by 1700 on January 31, 2017.
