Entrepreneurship and disruptive innovation is changing the world at a rapid pace. Seemingly overnight, new careers are being launched and old jobs are vanishing across all sectors of the economy. Providing the interdisciplinary value of innovation and entrepreneurship skills to our students is critical in preparing them for an ever-changing economy regardless of if our graduates will be entrepreneurs, or if they work for an established business.
HELIX, Seneca’s on-campus innovation and entrepreneurship incubator, supports the successful launch of multidisciplinary, youth-lead companies by providing knowledge, mentorship, a state-of-the-art incubator space, and experiential opportunities critical for sustainable, scalable entrepreneurial success.
Since October 2014, 100 youth-led ventures have accelerated in HELIX. These entrepreneurs are coming from all areas of the college, forming cross-disciplinary ventures leading to tremendous success. These ventures have gone on to hire Seneca students, sign international contracts, win international/national competitions and have graduated with diplomas or degrees and their own companies.
To learn more about how to get involved and access our resources, drop by room A3060 at Newnham Campus or visit the HELIX website.
