Deterrence via Course Design, Copyright and Authentic Assessments. Course Hero and other commercial sharing sites have challenged pedagogical practices prior to the pandemic, if not more during the pandemic. Many faculty feel that the accessibility of learning resources such as exams, tests, assignments, and notes is creating brick walls for faculty to create an engaging learning environment. In this session we will discuss how course design in Blackboard and re-examinig assessments can help reduce and deter academic offences.

How Academic Integrity cases are processed
Presenter(s): Cal Barber and Deepak Bajaj
As faculty embrace the spirit and intent of Seneca’s commitment to Academic Integrity, taking action to ‘write up a case’ can be a challenge. This session covers what an Academic Integrity committee considers when reviewing cases. We will offer tips to consider as you prepare to submit a formal Academic Integrity report. The focus will be on an interactive discussion as we walk through the steps of how the procedures outlines in the policy are administered when a case reaches the AI Committee stage.

How to Use Blackboard Assessments to Help Prevent Academic Integrity Violations
Presenter(s): Ryan Laverty
Everyone from the Seneca community is invited to share their thoughts/speculations/hopes about the future of Academic Integrity. Showcase your creativity by posting a shor video, a photo, or a message.
Faculty can also join the conversation on Academic Integrity between February 16 to 19, 2021 through the Padlet for Faculty.
The use of a Padlet has proven to be a great icebreaker activity in classes, an entry point to a conversation about Academic Integrity between faculty and students, and a promotion of the Acadmeic Integrity Week events. Consider linking to the Student Padlet in your classes to encourage your students to contribute to the conversation: Padlet for Students
