SDG Multimedia Contest (Fall 2022) Awards Ceremony – Congratulations to our winners! | Seneca Business: Principles for Responsible Management Education | Seneca Polytechnic

On Dec 1^st 2022, Seneca Business PRME hosted its second annual SDG Multimedia Contest Awards Ceremony at Seneca’s Center for Executive and Professional Learning in downtown Toronto.

The award Ceremony is the apex of the SDG Multimedia Contest.  The Contest is our major (flagship) event for Fall 2022, where students are invited to express their sustainability ideas through the language of SDGs using infographics or videos.

The theme for this year's contest was How can Seneca Business students be a force for good and act as agents of transformation beyond the classroom.

The ceremony was opened by the Dean of Seneca Business, Jeff McCarthy, followed by the keynote speaker Cindy Chao, Director of Social Impact, RBC.

Ms. Chao delivered an inspiring speech about her career journey in the field of sustainability and how students can be today’s agents of transformation, encouraging students to be curious, follow their passions, and not forget to network!

The five student finalist entries were showcased to the audience and each finalist shared their inspiration and ideas for their submissions. Over 220 Seneca Business faculty, staff and students voted for the top three entries and the winners were:

⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️The winning infographic design of the contest - "The footprint that Seneca College should leave" by Abril Valdez Rodriguez, who won a cash prize of $500! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

⭐️⭐️⭐️The 1st runner up entry for the infographic design - "Creative Waste Properly" by Yiu Hei Mak, who won a cash prize of $300! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 

⭐️⭐️ The 2nd runner-up entry for the infographic design - "Transforming SDGs to Action" by Nisakorn Saengprachum, who won a cash prize of $200! ⭐️⭐️

The 2022 run had approximately 40 students attend the award ceremony in a flexible format (in-person and virtually).
