Using Batch Edit

You can use Batch Edit to edit multiple items (i.e. quizzes, documents, files, and links) at the same time. Batch Edit allows you to delete content, change its visibility, or change the due dates of selected content.


Using Batch Edit to Delete, Change Visibility and Due Dates of Content

  1. Select the course you want to edit.

  2. Select Content from the navigation bar.

  3. Select the ellipsis located in the top-right corner.

  4. Select Batch Edit from the drop-down menu. The Batch Edit page is displayed.

  5. Select the check boxes beside the content you want to change. Note: You can batch edit nested content by selecting the file name.

  6. Select Options located at the bottom of the page. A drop-down menu is displayed.

  7. Select any of the following:

    • Edit dates: Change the start date of the selected content. Note: For content without due dates (documents, modules, links, etc) the visibility dates of the content will change. For content with due dates, the visibility dates of the content will not change. 

    • Edit visibility: Display or hide all selected items. This will overwrite all current dates set for visibility. 

    • Delete items: Delete selected content.


Using Batch Edit to Remove Display On and Until Dates

Batch Edit can be used to remove Display On and Display Until dates of content. 

  1. Select the course you want to edit.

  2. Select Content from the navigation bar.

  3. Select the ellipsis located in the top-right corner.

  4. Select Batch Edit from the drop-down menu. The Batch Edit Page is displayed.

  5. Select the check boxes beside the content you want to change.

  6. Select Options on the bottom-right corner of your screen. A drop-down menu is displayed.

  7. Select Edit Visibility from the drop-down menu.

  8. Select Hidden from students or Visible to students.

  9. Select Save Visibility.
