Adding a Zoom (or other tool) Link in Your Course

Tool links are links displayed in the Content page for students to access tools such as Zoom, BigBlueButton, Kritik, VoiceThread, and etc. You can add tools through Books & Tools (Option 1), or Content Market (Option 2).

Option 1: Books & Tools

  1. Select Books & Tools from the Details & Actions pane. A panel is displayed on the right.

  2. Select the plus icon (+) beside the tool you want to add. Note: If you don’t find the tool you want, select Browse all course tools at the bottom of the panel to see a full list.

  3. The tool link is displayed at the bottom of the Content page. Note: The tool link can be moved around the content area. For more information, see the Moving Items in the Content Area article.

Option 2: Content Market

  1. Select the plus icon (+) in the Content page. A drop-down menu is displayed.
  2. Select Content Market
Screenshot of step 2 on Option 2 as explained on this page
  3. Select the plus icon (+) next to the tool you want to add.
  4. The tool link is displayed at the bottom of the Content page. Note: The tool link can be moved around the content area. For more information, see the Moving Items in the Content Area article.

Can Students Access Tools if I Don’t Make a Link?

Yes, students can still access course tools if you forget or choose not to make a link. They have their own Details & Actions pane, and can select tools from there. Not all tools may show up as available to students. Be sure to check in Student Preview if they can access it. See the Using Student Preview Mode for more information.

If you do not create tool links, be sure to provide students with instructions on how to access the tools you will be using in class.
