Managing Rubrics

Manage course rubrics from the updated Gradebook Settings panel. The rubric editor and course-copy workflows remain unchanged.

Open Course Rubrics

  1. Select Gradebook.
  2. Select the Settings gear beside To Do.

  3. Scroll to Course Rubrics.

Create a rubric

  1. Select Create.
  2. Enter a rubric title and complete the rubric settings.
  3. Add or edit the rubric rows, columns, criteria, and performance levels.
  4. Select Save.

Duplicate or delete a rubric

  1. Select the More options ellipsis beside the rubric.
  2. Select Duplicate or Delete.

Note: After a rubric has been used for grading, it may no longer be editable. Duplicate the rubric and edit the copy when changes are required.

Edit rubric rows and columns

  • Select the pencil icon to edit a field.
  • Select the plus icon to add a row or column.
  • Select the delete icon to remove a row or column.
  • Select Save.

Copy a rubric from another course

  1. Select Content.
  2. Select the More options ellipsis, then select Copy Items.
  3. Open the source course.
  4. Select Rubrics.
  5. Select the rubric to copy.
  6. Select Start Copy.
