Disabling Automatic Zeros

When a student does not submit an assignment prior to the due date, they will receive an automatic grade of zero.

If you want to employ late policies that reduce a grade incrementally (i.e., subtract 5% per day late for 3 days), then you have to disable automatic zeros.

Disabling Automatic Zeros

  1. Select Gradebook
  2. Select the gear icon from the tool bar at the top. Gradebook Settings panel is displayed.
  3. Deselect Assign automatic zeros for past due work

Note: If there are assignments that have been automatically graded zero, disabling this feature will prompt you to choose if you want to keep those marks as zeros or change its status to “ungraded.”
