Dropping the Lowest Quiz Grade

Apply a category calculation rule to drop the lowest quiz score from the Overall Grade calculation.

Before you begin

Place every quiz that can be dropped in the same Gradebook category. Do not include unrelated items in that category. The category must contain more than one non-exempt item.

Drop the lowest quiz score

  1. Select Gradebook.
  2. Select the Settings gear beside To Do.
  3. Under Overall Grade, select Manage overall grade settings.

  4. Locate the Quiz category and select Edit calculation rules.

  5. Turn Enable on.
  6. Select Drop Scores.
  7. Enter 1 for the number of lowest scores to drop. Leave the highest-scores value at 0 unless a different rule is required.

  8. Select Continue, then save the Overall Grade changes.

Note: The category calculation rule applies only to items in the selected category. Make sure the category contains only the quizzes that should be included in this rule.
