About

Leganto is a resource list management system that is integrated with both Learn@Seneca and the library's search and resource management system. Users can create custom course materials lists and add a direct link within their Learn@Seneca course. When building a resource list, instructors can:

• easily search and drag-and-drop library resources into the list
• include other types of materials such as web sites, videos, articles etc.
• organize items into sections that can be displayed or hidden from students
• prompt students for interaction with items using built-in functions (likes, mark read, discussions, notes)
• submit uploaded files for copyright review to the library
• collaborate with librarians and other instructors on building and maintaining resource lists
• export lists into multiple formats (RIS, BibTex, Excel, Word, PDF) for reuse
• view usage metrics for each list

Leganto is part of the library's systems. You can access Leganto through Learn@Seneca from Course Tools ("Resource List") or directly at Leganto login and signing in with your Seneca credentials.

Keeping Student Information Safe When Using Online Tools

The Quick guide to secure handling of confidential student information for faculty using online learning tools (.PDF) (developed by the Teaching & Learning Centre and ITS) helps faculty choose secure online tools for teaching. The guide provides guidelines and examples to help faculty consider the information students might be giving up when using a new tool. It is intended for quick use of free or low-cost online tools and not for larger, more costly tools that require more rigorous data privacy vetting.
