Seneca Polytechnic offers state-of-the-art Sandbox Studios across its campuses, providing faculty with robust tools for creating professional headshots, interviews, audio recordings, 3D printing, and other digital productions. These facilities are designed to support both full-service and self-service needs, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for all users.

Full-Service Studios

Newnham Campus and Seneca@York Campus feature full-service studios. These are ideal for faculty who require comprehensive support in their digital production endeavors. Whether it’s for filming high-quality professional headshots, recording interviews, or producing polished audio content, the full-service studios offer the necessary expertise and equipment. The professional staff is available to assist from pre-production planning through to post-production editing, ensuring high-quality outcomes for all projects.

Self-Service Studios

For faculty who prefer a more hands-on approach, the King Campus and Seneca International Academy (Markham) provide self-service studios. These studios are equipped with user-friendly tools that allow faculty to independently manage their digital production projects. Whether creating engaging course materials or developing innovative digital content, these self-service facilities provide the flexibility and autonomy needed to experiment and create.

How to Book

Booking a session at any of the Sandbox Studios is straightforward. Faculty can visit the Sandbox Studios booking page to reserve their preferred time slot and specify their requirements. This streamlined process ensures that the studios are accessible and ready for use when needed.

Enhancing Course Content

Beyond creating their own digital content, faculty can integrate the Sandbox Studios' offerings into their courses. Seneca Polytechnic provides various packages that can be incorporated into the curriculum, enriching students' learning experiences. These include:

  • Creating Videos Package: Teaches students the fundamentals of video production, from filming to editing.
  • Generative AI Package: Introduces students to AI-driven content creation, enabling them to harness cutting-edge technology in their projects.
  • Creating Infographics Package: Guides students in designing compelling visual content to effectively communicate complex information.
  • Creating Effective Presentations Package: Equips students with essential skills to craft engaging and impactful presentations that effectively convey information and captivate audiences.

Faculty interested in these packages can find more information and integrate them into their courses by visiting the Supporting Digital Literacy page.

Support and Contact

For any inquiries or additional support, faculty can reach out to the Sandbox team at sandbox@senecapolytechnic.ca. The team is ready to provide guidance and ensure that all faculty and students can fully leverage the capabilities of the Sandbox Studios.

Seneca Sandbox Studios offer an unparalleled resource for faculty to enhance their professional work and enrich their students' learning experiences, driving innovation and creativity across the campus community.
