After your term has begun, there are a few more things to be aware of to ensure that your term runs smoothly from start to finish for both you and the students.
Counselling and Accessibility Services offers support for students trying to manage the complexities of student life. Students are seen on a voluntary, confidential basis, with help offered to fulfill their personal and academic potential, through individual and/or group supports. Seneca supports the Ontario Human Rights Code in that the needs of students with disabilities must be accommodated to ensure equal access to educational services.
Please visit the Counselling and Accessibility Services webpage to learn more about their services.
Counsellors work with students to identify individual accommodation needs so that students can more fully participate in their academic studies.
Counselling and Accessibility Services will email accommodation letters to faculty, student adviser, and the Chair or program designate. Faculty are responsible for making arrangements for students with accommodations. For procedures, information, and Request to Test form click here.
Accessibility at Seneca
The Student Code of Conduct is designed to promote behaviour that reflects Seneca’s values of honesty, trust and fairness; these qualities must be reflected in the actions of all members of our community. The code outlines Seneca’s standards of student behaviour, as well as the procedures to be followed, if the standards are violated. The Student Code of Conduct applies to all employees, students, clients, contractors and the public as defined by the policy. The Student Conduct Office provides confidential advice, counsel, referral, consultation, mediation, investigation and resolution assistance to all individuals or groups in conflict.
If you have an issue with a student, please speak to the Program Coordinator and Chair; you can also contact the Student Conduct Office by email at student.conduct@senecapolytechnic.ca.

Through the My.Seneca platform, an online survey tool is used to obtain student feedback on your effectiveness in the classroom. Each full-time professor is surveyed once per year in the Fall semester. Probationary and contract faculty are evaluated both in the Fall and Winter semesters. This survey is distributed through the student’s My.Seneca Learn@Seneca account for completion.
The survey results will be forwarded electronically to you, and to your Chair approximately two months later.
