About the workshop:
Human Resources professionals have access to very sensitive employee information and are often involved in sensitive HR matters. Unintended disclosure of such information may have a tremendous impact on overall employee and workplace well-being. This is especially true in our digital era. Continuing education in the area of privacy is crucial to the HR professional working in a vastly changing marketplace.

 About the Facilitator

Instructor: Dan McGarry, MHRM, BEd, BA (Hons.), CHRL, CHRP



Dan McGarry is an experienced Human Resources professional who has worked in a variety of senior human resources roles, including directing human resources for a multi-site manufacturing organization. Previously, Dan served as the human resources vice-president for a large staffing service organization.

Dan started his teaching career in 2006. He has taught and developed courses for Seneca and other colleges and universities. In addition, Dan has been a featured presenter at the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) annual conferences and has been interviewed by various media outlets. He also served as a contributor to the Global Labour Research Centre's information brochures.

Dan completed a certificate in human resources with the HRPA, attained a specialized degree in adult education from Brock University and earned a master's degree in Human Resources Management at York University. Dan also holds the Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) and Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designations
