Seneca experiences another successful year with their community partner programs.

FCET continues to collaborate with community partners to deliver innovative and customized training. These programs support job seekers, included those impacted by COVID-19, by teaching workplace and sector-specific skills and helping to better position participants to achieve gainful employment.

ACCES Employment Engineering Connections Program is designed to help internationally trained engineering professionals find work in Canada, and is funded by IRCC. Seneca delivers courses in Health & Safety, Codes and Standards, Estimation Processes, Ethics and Law for Engineers, and builds an understanding of the Canadian project management environment and professional licensing process in Ontario. Since April 2021, 58 participants have registered as Seneca students to complete these courses.

YWCA Toronto helps women to improve their employment skills and unlock their potential with the support of government funding and donations. Seneca partnered with them on two customized Information Technology programs this past year; Mobile Application Development and Cyber Security. 40 women learned leading skills and fundamental concepts to prepare for roles in the IT sector.

52 youth attended a YMCA Youth Retail Trades Program funded by Skills Development, MLTSD. Seneca developed and delivered an online course for the program, focused on developing customer service skills and building customer loyalty. This included a review of emerging trends in a post-pandemic customer service role.

150 students have benefited from Seneca’s partner programs and the qualified instructors we have in FCET. We look forward to continued collaboration in the months ahead.
