John Wong was a featured guest speaker for the Canadian Immigrant web conference on  May 12th, 2022.  These free one-stop industry-specific virtual web series are connecting newcomers with information to help them settle in Canada. This event focused on learning about career opportunities, education pathways and career growth in the finance and banking sector.

John is currently the Academic Program Manager (Business Studies) for Seneca College’s Faculty of Continuing Education and Training. He manages over 80 business programs and a team of professors and support staff. John also teaches courses in Ethics and Social Responsibility for the Honours Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting & Finance program.

Prior to joining Seneca College, John had worked for more than 20 years in the banking sector. His experiences were shared during the event and brought valuable information to the audience. This included an overview of careers, roles, Canadian companies and the industry in general.

With 185 registrants, this successful event promoted FCET’s career-focused programs in the business and finance sector while creating awareness of pathways for newcomers in Canada and programs for newcomers at Seneca.
