Seneca HELIX HERizons program will be offering a number of free supports specifically aimed at women at all stages of their lives.  One of which is a business math course. Open to students and community members, this course will help women increase their confidence in financial decision-making.  Participants will learn the math fundamentals applied to business such as interest calculations, annuities, loan financing, currency conversion, trade discounts and more.  They will be introduced to finance that will help them cultivate their confidence to advance their career or when starting their own business.

Samara Rincon, the Coordinator of HERizons says, “This program aims to help women gain fundamental skills to enter or re-enter the workforce, change careers or start a new business. It will cultivate sought-after job skills and develop an entrepreneurial mindset to the participants.”

Business Math Course:

  • Start Date: Oct 17, 2022

  • End Date: Dec 7, 2022

  • Online classes: Mon Noon-2pm, Wed Noon-3pm

Description: This course explores the fundamentals of mathematics for business and finance to help increase your confidence in financial decision-making. It reviews key business concepts such as interest calculations, annuities and loan financing. Students are also introduced to important models of business mathematics such as currency conversion, trade discounts and more. This is a non-credit course.
