Seneca, in partnership with the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC), is seeking employee volunteers to participate in a unique community program that assists professional newcomers to Canada with their job search and awareness of Canadian career paths.

Volunteering is an excellent way for employees to strengthen professional skills while giving back to the community. With over 2 years of professional work experience in Canada, you have a lot of insight to share.

Each employee will be matched with a newcomer who has skills aligned to their field and will volunteer 18 hours over three months. This program operates virtually and includes an online orientation, support from our Seneca mentoring coach, online resources and leadership webinars provided by TRIEC. Funded by the Government of Ontario.

It’s flexible and rewarding, and you’ll learn how to be a leader in today’s diverse workplace. Mentors feel more empowered in their own careers by advancing their own leadership skills.

An immigrant in your professional field is waiting for a mentor like you!

We have mentees in various occupations, and currently a high need for mentors in the following sectors:

  • Healthcare
  • Media and Publishing
  • Civil Engineering
  • Teaching & Learning
  • Business

More information is available online. Those interested in becoming a volunteer can email amy.koning@senecacollege.ca
