Spring 2024 Curriculum Integration Cohort

A big thank you to all the Spring 2024 CI faculty champions who joined us for last week’s sessions! Time flies; we’re already at the mid-point in our journey. In the previous week, we delved into the Curriculum Integration Plan deliverables. This week, we encourage faculty champions to touch base with your Chair for any concerns, feedback, or to just give a quick update on your progress. If you haven’t already, please make sure to register for the last CI sessions and CI Spotlight session on MyPD!

Event Calendar: Pride Month

Pride seasonis here as people celebrate the LGBTQ2S+ community worldwide during the summer months. In Ontario, June is Pride month, and it commemorates the New York City Stonewall riots of June 1969; the month-end parade caps off a full 30 days chock-full of events.

There are numerousactivities taking place at Seneca, including a Pride flag raising event on June 4th at Seneca@York campus.

For faculty, resources are available in this toolkit for your classroom practice, including web banners and backgrounds for virtual meetings. You may want to include stories of Canadian LGBTQ2S+ individuals, or call on guest speakers from the community to speak to your classes. For additional possibilities, please contact the Office of Reconciliation and Inclusion (ORI) at ori@senecapolytechnic.ca and let’s celebrate together.

Classroom Connection: Illuminate App

Check out the Illuminate app, an climate change educational simulation game created by the University of Waterloo. In the game, players explore solutions to the impacts of climate change. It's a low-stakes way to promote critical thinking while encouraging real-world cost-benefit conversations that students can apply to their lives.
