Adapting the two-eyed seeing approach can create respectful learning experiences that build on both Indigenous and non-Indigenous ways of knowing and learning. This approach can help de-centre certain knowledge systems and encourage a more inclusive learning environment.
Additionally, purposeful, sincere and respectful decision-making in the Indigenization of classroom design is so important. It should be approached with intention, and adhere to Seneca’s Principles of Indigenous Curriculum Engagement (SPICE):
