As we embark on the new academic year, we're excited to announce the winners of Seneca's Teaching and Learning Awards for Faculty for 2021-2022. Through their contributions and commitment, each of these faculty have positively improved the quality of education and enriched the experiences of their students. Please join us in congratulating the following faculty members:

Athena Hurezeanu from the School of Hospitality and Tourism is the recipient of the Seneca Award for Teaching Excellence
Athena demonstrated a commitment to caring for students and collaboration and sharing within the Seneca community.

Philip Ackerman from the School of Community Services is the recipient of the Seneca Award for Teaching Excellence in Flexible Delivery
Philip demonstrated innovative and exemplary teaching practices and embraced the principles of Au Large as a leader in flexible delivery.

Aladdin AlRadhi from the School of Information Technology Administration and Security is the recipient of the Seneca Transformative Educator Award
Aladdin was nominated by his students for his commitment to teaching and their success and for the positive impact that he has had on them.

These awards recognize and celebrate outstanding faculty who make a difference by engaging students, inspiring colleagues, caring for their students, and demonstrating innovative teaching practices. Congratulations, we are so proud of you.

Each recipient of the award will receive the following:

  • $1,000 toward an academic conference of their choice
  • Registration for the EDUCAUSE Annual Conference (attending virtually)
  • Registration for an Adobe Creative Campus event
  • A feature in the Teaching and Learning Stories from the Field podcast from the Teaching & Learning Centre
