Calling all Faculty!

It is that time again when you receive your Learn@Seneca course shells for fall 2025 and begin the process of revising your lessons and content for the new teaching term. When you open your course shells, you will notice some improvements and changes to the Teaching and Learning Learn@Seneca Course Template.

On the faculty side, the newly revised template, which is designed with the Learn@Seneca Minimum Requirements Policy and accessibility in mind, includes

  • a link to a guide called Learn@Seneca (Blackboard Ultra) Template Guide that guides you through the different sections and areas that need revision/customization for your course,
  • a checklist to help you identify the tasks that need completing before your course starts,
  • an action item with information about starting the process of including Curriculum Integration (Truth and Reconciliation; Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion; Sustainability; Human Skills; and Artificial Intelligence) into your course.

On the student side, the newly revised template with its sleeker design, divided into digestible chunks, not only provides a more pleasant navigation experience for students, but also enhances their comprehension, makes information easier to find, and serves as a resource repository.

If you have any questions about creating content and assessments, or setting up your gradebook in Learn@Seneca, the Teaching & Learning Centre has created a fantastic resource where you can get your questions answered — the Blackboard Ultra Help website. Be sure to check it out!

As well, you can always reach out to teaching@senecapolytechnic.ca if you would like to speak to someone or book an appointment for help with

We got you and you got this!
