When might additional ancillary fees be added to a student’s account?
Ancillary fees may be added if a student adds a course that changes their course load from one to two or two to three.
If a student adds or drops a course, how long does it take for their updated ancillary fees to be calculated and displayed on Student Home?
Generally, it takes 24 hours for updated ancillary fees to be calculated and updated on Student Home. During peak periods, such as Start Up, it may take slightly longer.
What happens if a student’s ancillary fees increase after their OSAP funding is released?
If a student adds courses after their OSAP funding is released, and their ancillary fees are impacted, their OSAP assessment may be recalculated.
If a student’s course load increases, they should notify Financial Aid.
Can ancillary fees be refunded if a student drops a course or withdraws?
Ancillary fees follow the Tuition Fee and Refund Policy. Students may receive partial refunds depending on timing and whether they remain enrolled in at least one course.
Are domestic students taking fewer than three courses eligible for the health and dental plan?
Domestic students taking one or two courses are not eligible to enrol in the health and dental plan and are not charged the health and dental plan ancillary fee.
Students taking three or more courses are eligible for the health and dental plan and this ancillary fee will be charged once at the beginning of the academic year. If a student starts in January or May, a prorated amount will be charged.
