It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Les Czegel, professor in the School of Information Technology Administration & Security, on Monday, Jan. 31, 2022.
Les began his career with Seneca in January 1999 as a professor in the School of Computer Studies at the former Don Mills Campus. Later, he joined the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering Technology at Seneca@York and then would move to Newnham Campus, teaching in the Information & Communications Technology program within the School of Information Technology Administration & Security.
Those that worked with Les will remember his love of music, his great sense of humor, easy laugh and warm smile.
His expertise in the Unix/Linux operating systems established Les as leader in the Introduction to Unix/Linux courses. His commitment to his students was evident to all, and is what made Les an outstanding professor. We offer our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
Funeral details will be added to this post as soon as possible.
