View all the Teaching & Learning Centre Spark Plugs!
by An Nguyen, Senior Instructional Designer in the Teaching & Learning Centre
We’re excited to kick off the planning for Teaching & Learning Day Winter 2025, happening on February 25, 2025 (Save the date!), with the theme “Cultivating Connections: Enhancing Student Engagement in Online Learning.” As we continue to refine and enhance our online learning experiences, we want to focus on how we can build stronger connections with and between students.
For this Teaching & Learning Day, we would love for you to be part of that conversation!
In the New Year, we will be putting out a call for proposals – so make a mental note! We’re looking for faculty who are passionate about enhancing engagement and building community in the digital classroom to lead workshops. This is a great chance to showcase your ideas, tips, and strategies that have helped students connect with you, their classmates, and the course material while staying motivated and engaged along the way. The goal is to bring everyone together to exchange ideas and share what’s working. We believe that with the right strategies of building connections, online learning can be just as engaging as in-person learning.
Consider this a heads-up to start thinking about what you might want to share. In the New Year, we’ll open the official Call for Proposals for workshops, so stay tuned for more details! We look forward to learning from your expertise!
I am sure a few faculty members who are involved in COIL will be interested in presenting! Looking forward to the call for proposals.
