We are pleased to announce the launch of a new suite of online student learning modules supporting Seneca’s Curriculum Integration initiative.
Developed through a partnership between the School of English and Liberal Studies (SELS) and the Teaching & Learning Centre (T&LC), these ready-to-use modules strengthen students’ capacity to support reconciliation, inclusion, and sustainability in professional contexts while also promoting inclusive communication techniques and effective use of artificial intelligence.
Featuring sleek design, customized graphics, and interactive content, the modules support Curriculum Integration by helping faculty do the following:
Each module is self-directed and includes non-graded quizzes, allowing students to progress at their own pace and revisit content as needed.
Flexible Design: Adaptable across disciplines and delivery modes; grounded in inclusive instructional design and student-directed interactivity.
Faculty-Friendly Implementation: Ready-to-use materials with clear guidance
Relevant Content: Originally developed by SELS subject-matter experts, in consultation with Seneca’s Reconciliation and Inclusion team and Seneca Librarians
Student-Centred Approach: Emphasis on engagement, reflection, and real-world application
Faculty can find all modules on the Business Communication Subject Guide Home page. From there, scroll down to Key Resources and select the Learn@Seneca Blackboard Modules tab.
Important: Before opening a module, ensure you are already logged into Learn@Seneca on a separate tab.
The modules are easy to integrate into Learn@Seneca. Once you access the module links, simply add a content item in Blackboard, paste the module link, and provide clear instructions for students.
Faculty can assign full modules or module sections to complement course topics and discussions. Faculty are also encouraged to meaningfully integrate module content directly into classroom learning activities to clearly establish connections between Curriculum Integration topics and subject-area content.
We invite you to join a growing interdisciplinary Community of Practice (CoP) dedicated to sharing practical approaches to integrating these modules across Seneca. Hosted on Microsoft Teams, this CoP provides opportunities to discuss the module content, align modules with learning outcomes, exchange teaching strategies, and share assignment ideas.
Through this exchange, faculty can learn from one another while demonstrating a shared commitment to the meaningful integration of Truth and Reconciliation, EDI, Sustainability, Human Skills and Artificial Intelligence in curricula across Seneca.
You can request to join the CI Faculty Resources CoP by clicking on the link to Microsoft Teams CI Faculty Resources Community of Practice. You will be added to the site before the Fall 2026 semester begins.
For questions about these modules or Curriculum Integration in general, please contact the Teaching & Learning Centre at teaching@senecapolytechnic.ca.
