Please note that while Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor integrates with Blackboard Ultra, and can help deter academic integrity infractions, the software is not foolproof. Respondus will not eliminate all possibilities of academic integrity violations, nor does it guarantee accessibility. Please consider alternative assessments to maintain the integrity and accessibility of online assessments.

User Checklist

Please use the Instructor checklist as you are setting up LockDown Browser and Monitor. Please provide students with the Respondus Monitor checklist in advance of practice and/or graded assessments.

Respondus LockDown Browser + Respondus Monitor Checklist for Instructors

Assessments

  • Create a practice assessment a few weeks prior to graded assessment, giving all students enough time to complete the assessment, test out equipment, including Assistive Technology, and set up an appropriate testing environment. Note: If Assistive Technology does not work, alternative assessments will be needed.
  • Check that all students have completed the Respondus Monitor setup, including the Environment Scan, which is to be completed within a 1-minute and 5-second period, along with the practice assessment.
  • Review and discuss the proctoring results of the practice assessment.
  • Reach out to IT ahead of the graded assessment for a contact person, in case technical issues arise during the proctored assessment.
