Respondus will not eliminate all possibilities of academic integrity violations, nor does it guarantee accessibility. Where can I download the Respondus LockDown Browser as a student?You can download the LockDown Browser from the assessment pane when you start your test attempt in Learn@Seneca, or you can visit LockDown Browser for a direct download.
Can we use the spreadsheet tool in the LockDown Browser?No. The spreadsheet tool is not compatible with our version of Learn@Seneca (Blackboard Ultra). The spreadsheet tool only works in Blackboard Original courses and has not been effective in Blackboard Ultra. If an Excel sheet is required for the assessment, convert the document to a PDF.
Can I enable the calculator toolbar?Yes, you can choose to select this in the “Settings” when enabling the LockDown Browser.
Can I whitelist a website for access during a test?Yes. You can allow access to external web domains in the LockDown Browser. However, you can only view the linked page as all other links and navigation paths are not whitelisted. The feature works on MacOS and Windows desktops and laptops.
I'm having trouble installing/using the Respondus LockDown Browser and my anti-virus software.Some solutions we've found that can assist with this issue are:
Which assistive technologies work with Respondus LockDown Browser?At the moment, Seneca has not identified any assistive technologies that are 100% compatible with LockDown Browser. We will continue to investigate if there are any that we can recommend. If a student requires assistive technology to complete an assessment, we strongly recommend providing an alternative assessment for them.
What happens if a student has committed an academic integrity violation?If an academic integrity infraction has occurred, please refer to Seneca's Academic Integrity Policy to determine your next steps.
