  1. Professional Practice

Faculty apply their professional knowledge through authentic approaches to ensure that students are engaged and achieving learning outcomes. They employ a variety of instructional and assessment strategies to engage learners in their own growth and help them think critically. Faculty also reflect on relevance of the curriculum, ethics, research, and related policies to continuously inform and enhance their practice.

The Standards of Practice for Professional Practice include the following:

    • Supporting and implementing Seneca’s Strategic Plan.

    • Championing Seneca’s academic and professional policies and standards.

    • Creating effective, student-centered learning experiences across all teaching modalities.

§ Using assessment for, of, and as learning coupled with timely and actionable feedback to guide student achievement.

    • Setting high and attainable expectations for all learners and expressing confidence in their abilities.

    • Connecting themes of Reconciliation, Inclusion, Sustainability, and Human Skills to curricula and classroom experiences.

    • Integrating educational and digital technologies into teaching practice.

    • Engaging students in local and global learning.
