We offer a number of different professional development days for faculty members and instructors across Seneca. These events are open for all employees to attend.

  • New Faculty Orientation is offered the week before the Fall and Winter semesters begin.
This day provides an overview of the services and supports that impact teaching practice at Seneca.
  • Our Teaching & Learning Days are offered during the fall and winter study breaks, as well as during the break between the winter and summer terms.
They bring together faculty from across Seneca to network and share ideas about curriculum development, instructional design, and teaching and assessment strategies. There are opportunities for faculty to focus on deeper learning on the effective integration of technology into their classrooms.
  • The Teaching & Learning Summer Conference is our onboarding conference held prior to the start of the fall term.
It brings together small groups of faculty members and instructors to observe each other teach short lessons and to provide and gain feedback on teaching and assessment strategies.
  • Seneca’s Adobe Creative Jam and the Technology Takedown provide an opportunity for faculty to gain hands-on experience with technology tools they can use in their courses.
