The first step in training pilots to fly a new type of aircraft is to become familiar with the cockpit controls. Even before stepping into a flight simulator, pilots must instinctively learn the position and function of large numbers of switches, dials, and levers.
The King Air 200 Flight Deck VR experience helps Honours Bachelor of Aviation Technology students learn and validate operational procedures on a twin-engine aircraft by recreating the flight controls of a Beechcraft King Air 200 aircraft. By practicing in VR, students can develop the essential instrument awareness and muscle memory required to correctly execute takeoff, inflight and landing procedures.
