Extended Reality (XR) is an umbrella term for all technologies that involve interactions between the real and virtual worlds, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and other immersive digital formats.
Immersive simulations can be a powerful learning experience. XR technologies deliver training to students that is too dangerous, impossible, counterproductive or expensive to offer in real life. XR simulations give students the agency to choose a course of action in a safe space and foster the development of empathy through immersion in realistic scenarios.
This site provides information and resources for Seneca Polytechnic faculty who wish to implement XR technologies in their courses and programs.
