The theme of our event is “Culturally Responsive Teaching in Action.” Join us for a day of reflection, dialogue, and activity as we explore ways to bring equity and inclusion into our teaching and learning practices.
We're back! This is an in-person one-day conference taking place at Newnham Campus.
Register now in MyPD.
We are excited to welcome two keynote speakers for this full-day event. Faculty can also participate in an interactive workshop and attend a faculty panel on culturally responsive approaches to teaching and learning.
Our first keynote speaker is Shakil Choudhury, author of Deep Diversity and a renowned consultant on equity, diversity and inclusion in organizations. He will speak about using compassionate and inclusive approaches to supporting post-secondary students. An interactive workshop will follow, where participants will discuss strategies to incorporate the principles and practices that were shared in the morning keynote.
The afternoon keynote speaker is Maha Bali, Professor of Practice at the Centre for Learning and Teaching at the American University in Cairo. In her talk "Applying Intentionally Equitable Hospitality in Culturally Diverse Classes," Bali will engage participants in a discussion on equity and care in the intercultural classroom.
The afternoon's keynote will be followed by a faculty panel, which is an interdisciplinary discussion with colleagues who promote culturally responsive approaches in their teaching.
We look forward to seeing you in person!
This offering is part of Seneca's Micro-credentials for Faculty PD program.
