DefinitionIntercultural Knowledge is the knowledge, attitudes and skills that support effective and appropriate interaction in a variety of cultural contexts in order to adapt to and build relationships. Global perspective is the exploration of global issues and challenges from diverse worldviews that respects differences, while informing and broadening individual views.
Benchmark for AchievementThe graduate respectfully collaborates with others to explore issues from various cultural contexts and considers a global perspective when seeking out solutions to local challenges and issues.
The graduate:
At the Program LevelThere are opportunities across the program to interact collaboratively with others of different backgrounds and cultures; make connections between and among local and global issues and discuss global challenges. The students identify their personal cultural patterns and compare and contrast them with those of others and discuss ways to adapt to diverse cultural contexts.
